Terms of service

This is a working draft for layout review. It has not been reviewed by counsel and is not the published agreement.

1. The service

Trusted Communications provides a screened-calling service: a telephone number operated on your behalf, a mechanism for authorising specific callers, and forwarding of authorised calls to a destination number you nominate.

2. Acceptable use

The service may not be used for unlawful, harassing or deceptive communications, for automated or bulk dialling, or to impersonate another person or business. Numbers found to be used this way are suspended.

3. Emergency calling

The service is not a replacement for your telephone line and must not be relied on for emergency calls. Emergency services should always be reached from your own handset.

4. Codes and access

Access codes are stored one-way and cannot be retrieved by us. You are responsible for who you give a code to, and for revoking codes you no longer want honoured.

5. Call handling

Calls are not recorded or transcribed. Connection records — time, calling number, duration and outcome — are retained so that your call log is meaningful and so that abuse can be identified.

6. Availability

Voice is carried over commercial carrier networks and is subject to their availability. We do not warrant uninterrupted service.

7. Fees and cancellation

Plans are billed monthly in advance and may be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the paid period. Numbers are released on cancellation and cannot be guaranteed to be recoverable afterwards.

8. Changes

Material changes to these terms will be notified to the email address on your account before they take effect.
